The Tuesday new release was from the Southern Tier Brewing Company of Lakewood, New York. This classic style English style extra special bitter went down well, but was hoppier than most of the Thirstyboys were expecting. Everyone accused Malice of being pleased about this and pointed the finger at him – whether in blame that such an ESB should exist, or in ridicule of his unsophisticated tastes, nobody could determine. However, this beer was considered most “…quaffable on a summers day!”
We enjoyed it enough to offer four food matches and a haiku…
- Washed rind cheese pate and sliced apple 2.Good old fashioned salt and vinegar crisps 3. Cornish game hen un-pelleted 4.Goat curry
Southern Tier Harvest Ale (New York)
